Ericka Jenifer, Ph.D.

About Me

Dr. Ericka Jenifer completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia, with a double major in Psychology and African and Afro American Studies. She earned her Masters and Doctorate (Ph.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology at Howard University, with specializations in Neuropsychology, Health Psychology, and Women’s Studies. Subsequently, Dr. Jenifer earned Masters degrees in Public Health and Business Administration from Benedictine University.

Dr. Jenifer engaged in clinical work in military, veteran, and community mental health outpatient settings. She has multiple years of experience providing individual, couple, and group therapy and conducting psychological assessments. Dr. Jenifer also has experience with conducting mental health disability evaluations for veterans. 

Some of Dr. Jenifer’s clinical interest include recovery from trauma, anxiety, depression, substance misuse/abuse, relationship issues, military-related issues, diversity, multiculturalism, and cultural sensitivity. Dr. Jenifer is passionate about helping people  from a wide variety of backgrounds and identities to heal and to learn to cope in healthy ways with the challenges they face in everyday life. She believes in meeting her clients where they are and takes a person-centered, motivational, and integrative approach in therapy.
