Felisha Garcia, Psy.D.
About Me
Dr. Felisha Garcia is a bilingual (Spanish) licensed clinical psychologist who earned her doctoral
degree from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, with a concentration in forensic
psychology. She is a subject matter expert in her field and a research scientist. Her mission is to
create a safe space for clients to feel comfortable and supported. Her therapeutic style is warm,
personalized, and collaborative.
She has extensive experience treating anxiety disorders- ranging from panic attacks, phobias, and
perfectionism to social anxiety, and OCD. Dr. Garcia is also proficient in comprehensive
psychological evaluations, psychodiagnostic assessments, and security clearance and fitness-for-
duty evaluations. She has worked with and understands the culture/lingo/logistics of the military,
intelligence community, and law enforcement. Trauma is another area of expertise that allows her
the honor of helping clients transition into empowered survivors.
Dr. Garcia enjoys doing couples therapy and helping each partner feel heard and understood. The
dynamics of trust, communication, intimacy, and responsibilities can be difficult and debilitating for
any healthy relationship. Dr. Garcia works from a strengths-based perspective to help couples find
practical ways to achieve interpersonal wellness.
With children, Dr. Garcia actively seeks to be creative and engages in play therapy, sand tray
therapy, social skills training, and parent training. Her goal is to help children develop better
problem-solving skills, appropriate behaviors, and positive relationships with others. She also has
great rapport with teenagers and attributes her success in treatment to having a naturally patient and
calm demeanor, and an ability to look beyond their challenging behaviors.
“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does,” proclaims renowned American psychologist
William James with such basic intentions to describe a profound mindset. Dr. Garcia concurs
stating, “no matter what I do on this earth, I know that I am meant to help.”
